ALMOST 800 PEOPLE enjoyed “Open Mic Night at the Inn” at the Charlene Powers Lange Theater at Hutchins Street Square last weekend. Big fun! Cast and crew consisted of 43 dedicated people and one gifted Producer/Director, Francine Olson. One attendee said, “I came expecting the usual Christmas musical. Boy, was I surprised!” Surprising people was part of the fun.
HOW IT (REALLY) WORKS: Last week, I mentioned my new listing (one of my own rental homes) at 1205 Bentwood Drive in Galt. Just over 1400 square feet with three bedrooms and two baths. I listed it at $329,950. Now, Zillow sez it’s worth $341,904. Sales of similar homes three to six months ago were in the $340,000-plus range. But today, similar homes in the $330K to $340K range are languishing on the market for weeks or even months. Question to self: “Do I want to LIST my home or do I want to SELL my home?” I decided to price it to sell. It sold. Immediately. Full price. In this softening market, pricing high and waiting is not the wise move.
CONGRATULATIONS to Casey Butterfield on the SALE of his Woodbridge home! Casey’s Mom, Cathy, was my very first licensed Assistant back in the late 1980’s when real estate brokers asked, “Assistant? Why would you need an assistant?” It was a brand-new concept in those bad old days. Thanks for paving the way 30 years ago, Cathy. And thanks for entrusting Casey to me! It was a pleasure.
RING THAT BELL…If you drop by Pietro’s Trattoria this Tuesday between five and seven, say hello to the shivering Salvation Army bell-ringer. That would be Yours Truly, and I really won’t be shivering because Jimmy and Annette Murdaca graciously provide an outdoor heater to warm the bell-ringer! And there’s nothing better on a cold winter evening than a hot plate of Pietro’s lasagna and some homemade bread. Come on by! Bring money for the kettle!
