ON OUR WAY from school to her gymnastics class, granddaughter Freddie (Winifred) asked the usual question: “Grandpa, can we go to Vic’s for ice cream after gymnastics?” Her little brother Gilligan enthusiastically agreed. I suggested that dessert AFTER dinner might be better. Freddie: “Why not both?” Her Mom, Angie, says she gets that from her grandpa. True dat.

CONGRATULATIONS to Dick Dodge on the successful SALE of his home. This was a long-distance deal with Bay Area Buyers and a Michigan Seller. These days, with email and electronic signatures and mobile notaries, it’s a lot smoother than when I began in this bizness. I’m in my 35th year! It’s pretty amazing when I stop to consider the many changes this industry has gone through.

SNAPSHOT of coming attractions: In next week’s column, I’ll give you details on a home that’s listed for sale but not yet “on market”. It’s over 1500 square feet, three bedrooms, two baths, nice upgrades, nearly-new upscale HVAC system, separate building currently used as an office/man cave. All of this and more on an oversized Lodi lot! $359,950. Sorry. Can’t tell you the address until it’s officially on the market.

WE HAVE PRE-APPROVED BUYERS in all price ranges! Thinking of selling? I’m always happy to help people plan their futures. Sometimes the conversation goes on for years! No rush, no pressure from me. These are major life decisions. You need a trusted advisor, not a salesman at your elbow. Questions? My cell is 209-401-5446.

EPILOGUE: Yes, we DID end up at Vic’s. Chocolate cone for Gilly, Cookie Dough for Freddie and Grandpa. Then dinner at Tower Café. Life is short! Eat dessert first. (And last, if you can get away with it!).
