HOW WAS YOUR FOURTH? In 1776 John Adams, one of the Founding Fathers, said, "I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding Generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more."
Except for the “solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty” part, I think he got it right. For the Founders, it was a Declaration of Dependence on God. Today? Not so much, at least for many Americans.
CONGRATULATIONS to Ron and Vickie Richards on the successful SALE of their investment property! This sale has a long and happy story behind it, like so many. I love my work! Thanks to John DuBois, who shepherded this transaction while I was away. Another stellar job, John!
CONGRATS, CONT’D…I’ve been talking with Jon and Whitney Kesterson about selling their Lodi home for several years. Now that their brand-new home is completed, the time was right to sell the old one! Another happy beginning.
JOHN ADAMS AGAIN: "I must submit all my Hopes and Fears, to an overruling Providence, in which, unfashionable as the Faith may be, I firmly believe."
Unfashionable as the Faith may be in these crazy times, I’m with Mr. Adams.
